I think the stones are peridot, garnet, and amethyst.

lovely. never seen such a beautiful watch. 1970s would be my guess.

I'm assuming tongue-in-cheek, except for the 70s part.

Hey, I'm happy as I paid $1 for it, and bargains fuel me even more than the jokes on here. Here come more witty retorts . . . :wacky::p:joyful: Seriously, $25-50 sound reasonable?

    Seriously...........OK then...

    hummmm...

This is a site for Antique items

U have here a womans watch of unknown origin ,with an expanding bracelet having maybe some small stones...maybe glass....from maybe the late 1970's......

    it's not collectable .....
    it's not valuable...
& in 2021.....it's hardly even wearable..!

    U got it for a buck.........& that's WHY u got it for a buck !!!

Is it even running ???? ( I don't see movement of the hands, between the two pics !! )

If u can find someone to give u $5.......take the money and run....

    Of course.....that's just one man's opinion...:meh:

there are actually people - since a few years - that started to collect old Japanese quartz watches. some brands fetch amazing prices.

I had a Casio watch from the mid-70s with a stop-watch function which I recently sold on a local platform for 35 Swiss Francs - although it didn't work properly anymore, but the lozenge-form was appealing.

No, that's not why I got it for a buck! One of my spots sells everything dirt cheap, and I have found some nice $150-500 pieces there for a buck or two, including the authentic Tongzhi bowl I posted on here.

If I'm not mistaken, I read on this site (and some of us discussed) that items posted can be vintage and not necessarily of value. So, no matter how much you or anyone objects, I'll continue to post any item I want to know more about. Of course, it's your right to object each time, just as it's others right to joke in code at the expense of unsuspecting newbies or the unsophisticated (I'm actually enjoying these witticisms more and more). Knock yourself out, man! I sincerely hope, though, that you would change your tune and consider how some common, modern, and inexpensive items surprisingly stimulate interest and pleasant site conversation, including from well-known members. Take, for instance, that Kenyan pop up snake box I posted recently. I thought maybe one person would id it and that'd be it.

Very few items posted in the Jewelry section are antiques.

    antique/vintage/ MCM...
a discussion we had ad nauseam...
classifications are "nice to have" but not cast in concrete...
look at all the brown furniture that is antique and has - sometimes sadly - no value anymore; and then look at e.g. the MCM Scaninavian stuff that went up like a rocket.
so for me it's live and let live.
