This isn’t mine but I saw it in a charity shop and it looked interesting. I didn’t have time to wait in the queue to see it properly but do you think it is anything of interest?
The white beads didn’t look quite right for plastic but I was fighting the reflection of the glass hence the poor photos. The clasp looks like a hook.
Does the chain date it? Worth going back for a proper look?
    Thanks for looking :)

It's not quite what I would call a book chain. It is closer to a belcher chain. Definitely an older piece, presumably brass. Can't tell what the white beads are.

I've seen similar links on 1970s necklaces. I think I even had one in the 70s, but with a different pendant.

Thankyou, I’ll see what I can find with that search term.
Could be. It wasn’t screaming ‘buy me’ but I thought it was interesting as I’ve not seen that chain before.

A belcher chain is a regular chain with round links. Very simple, but one of my favourite chain types. It is seen a lot on historic portraits, when you see people wearing those heavy chains. Renaissance period, etc.

Looks like 'rolo chain' also brings up this sort of chain.

    It's nice, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

It doesn't jingle my bells either.

My senses told me not to wait in the queue so glad to hear you think I made the right decision.
I find chains quite interesting though and as AJ said, sometimes they are recognisable from a certain period or revival. If it’s still there next time I go back I may ask to look at it just to get hands on.
    Thanks all :)
