Some old cook books sell. Some don't. The most popular one IMHO is the one called the Crockers pie cover which is not a pie book. It has a photo on the front that is like a pizza pie cut into slices with all different photos. They are a favorite especially at this time of year. Binder or hardcover they are a fave.

I have found over time that the cook books that did not sell years ago, are starting to sell because people want what their mother had but the cook books can fall apart very easily due to age and wear.

The Settlement Cook book, is a good seller when you have the really old version or if it is the war time one. I have one that is falling apart and I use it when I sell bookends as a prop. In fact war time cook books do sell nicely in spite of condition. Things that discuss rationing are good. Also some canning books or booklets sell well. Of course sell well is relative, so far I have not gotten rich from my books.

I have a bunch of those old recipe booklets from products for flour, sugar etc that I plan on listing together as a lot.

I have an addiction to buying old cook books, I need a 12 step program. I just bought more today. Oy

Yeah, so, I bought a box lot of vintage magic tricks circa 40s and 50s at auction and these came along for the ride. I bleached them for the disgusting factor.

Look like they’d fit a child or very small adult. Surprisingly well made, in terms of the quality of the teeth.

There’s a little letter “T” on each tooth.

Apologies in advance to those who are grossed out.

Teeth sell. Not really gross now that they are clean.
Used hearing aides sell, dental stuff sells.
It is one wacky world we live in.

It's good for a giggle, for certain.

Perls already about covered it. Some sell, some don't. I gave a ton of mine away at one point. The ones i still want are full of handwriting; it means someone used it. Some sell, some don't. Good recipes, "hot " authors, or books with interesting stories tend to go.

I have one of those people feeders in my area for things I don't want to sell until I know what they are.
    Now I know, thank you!
I consider it a victory when I can identify anything in the ever growing group of items.

Nice surprise here. I debated if to buy this bracelet for £3 which I did as the Amber is nice. Had no clue until I got out of the shop that the dark ‘Amber’ is actually fully hallmarked very tarnished sterling silver!

Someone had this listed on FB market place with no photo of the base. I took a chance at $10 just thinking it had to be a known potter. Agreed to buy it without handling it, when seller confirmed there were no chips.

Once I picked it up was glad to see a signature. Looks like John Dunlap pottery.

Also crazy fun find at thrift last week:

They have wear, but I think since Gucci will still have resale. (Sadly nowhere near my size at 35.5...)

And same day, crazy cool men's 2" heel platform Florsheim shoes from the 70s:

Last but not least, how cute are these?!! Box marked Czech in two places, someone opened the box at the GW and passed on these for $1.99. Lucky for me!

    fl2r.jpg
They are little glass place card holders in their original Czech packaging. Even the bases are glass:

Nothing more frustrating and utterly useless than a pair of amazing shoes in the wrong size :arghh:

DD who normally isn't into this kind of style, took one look and had to have them. But she isn't a 35.5 either. (More like a EU 38) Still she tried to get them on! I said, "DO NOT damage those." She was gentle, but it was positively a no-go.

We've got a Cinderella situation here.

I just looked up European shoe sizes & am totally confused. What size are these shoes? This is the chart that came up for me.:confused::confused:
