Tripod Bobbin Stool - Manufacturer?

Hello,
I bought this little stool off of craigslist and want to know more about it. It does not have any markings. Wondering if it is a reproduction? The center finial was cracked and was glued at some point. Any ideas where this came from? Who made it? What type of wood? What was it used for?

Piano stool or dressing table stool would be my guesses.

not all piano stools adjust, but yes most do.

 

It is too small/short for it to be a piano stool. My guess is it is a foot stool. I am trying to figure out if it is a reproduction or an antique.

 

perhaps measurements might help. . .

 

What is the measured height of this? Also don’t think a piano stool as such (but can be used as one I suppose) To me a sensible foot stool should have padding or a cushion or something.. So just a normal stool? Not sure but I don’t think a reproduction (but also not sure of true age)

 

It is 13 inches high and 10 inches around.

Wow,that’s very low. So not a piano stool or any ‘regular’ stool. So yes maybe a foot stool then? Or something made for a child? Or a fancy stool to milk goats (ha ha)

I thought about that but the legs are so small they's sink into the barns cow shit !!!
