Nice lead horse. As yet unidentified but possibly German.
Thought he could be cold painted bronze but the broken leg looks like lead. Solid not hollow cast and was once partnered with a saddle and jockey and was pinned down onto a base.
I have a collection of lead horses and he is bigger scale than all the British makers and not quite Heyde so I’m stumped at the moment! 10cm tall.

One of the newest additions to the hoard.:smuggrin::smuggrin:

It is shown in the 1923/24 DeVilbiss catalog. The bottle was made by Cambridge in the Azurite color. The etch is pattern 739 & it is encrusted in black enamel. It is 9" tall to the top of the black glass acorn finial. This hardware is more commonly found with a gold-plated finial.:happy:

It was listed on eBay & when I first saw it the seller had it listed as an auction so I bookmarked it with plans to do my usual snipe bidding. :smug::rolleyes::p:D Later the same day I happened to look at the listing again while I was waiting in line at the GW & the seller had changed the listing to an auction/BIN form. The opening bid was now the BIN price. I quickly hit the BIN button. :joyful::joyful:

Oh & BTW it came with 5 friends :jawdrop::jawdrop: which I will likely be able to sell for as much if not more than I paid for the whole group. :smug::smug::smug::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin: The 4 to the right are Marcel Franke & the one to the left is marked Czechoslovakia.

^5! SCORE! I'm not a perfume bottle person, but I'd say you found a deal. Seller probably had no clue. Or was cleaning out and just didn't care.

I think I understand the format change now. There were bottles in the background of the photos in the listing I won that I am hoping eventually show up in their listings. I looked again today & noticed that they had actually revised another listing that day. The bottles appear to be all Marcel Franke in the other listing so they may have been contacted by someone who wanted my lot also but I got there first. :smug::smug:

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of those bottles are Lalique, Baccarat, or some other French company. However, the BIN price was a little steep for a teaching moment. ;):p:rolleyes::hilarious::hilarious:

It's sold, so somebody else didn't think so! I bet there was something really good in the pile. In other auctions they have some weighted sterling candlesticks sitting in the background. This look like someone selling off Mom's or Grandma's collection without knowing what they're doing really.

...And then thought I'd swing by a resale shop that's not one of my usuals. Found these. Two close-to-antique if not antique Navajo wedding baskets, a Hopi plaque, and an old Mexican wool weaving. Sizes are 13", 12" and 10.5". Made my day!!

True, our local Oxfam was recently given thousands of them and advertised the event but as there’s always loads in the Charity shops I don’t even look at them now.

Some people buy them, but they are not a big deal here either. I like looking at them but if they are heavy on canned soup or other "convenience foods" I usually give them a pass. I tend to like the small booklets put out by companies advertising their product, like Baker's chocolate.
