    Evening all,
    Trust your keeping well.

Hope you don't mind me reaching out to you to help authenticate my recent acquisition.

I believe this chair is from Circa 1970 and is an EA220 or EA 420 four-legged exec chair.

I do have my reservation about certain parts of this chair and its authenticity one being the base of it, it looks completely off and the welds look terrible. I'm pretty confident the actual chair/ wheelbase is period and correct.

Could someone who maybe is a connoisseur in this field be able to help me out with this piece, please. Unfortunately no stickers or marking on the aluminium which may also present a concern.

    please see the photos attached.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Oliver

Base looks right for a Herman Miller. Four legs instead of five, so it is older, 70's seems right. Condition issues, obviously.

Hi Jeff, when i refer to the base im actually meaning the bracket, im satisfied that the four star base is ok just the cut outs and the poor welds on the frame were my concern, i also havent seen any stamps which im told should be present on the aluminium.

    Thanks again

Rough welding is standard, sadly (not meant to be seen). Labels aren't always there, alas!
The damage to the armrests is a shame (to be expected though). The leather is not bad, especially given the abuse office chairs are put to.
