Featured meaning of symbols on early 19th century signet ring

    So I win my wager. You inherited something really nice. I'm always pleased when such personal items stay with the family & don't get sold off. So the initials are those of the deceased, passed on to a family member who had the inscription added. Part of what's nice about it is that you can date it. Without the personalization, it could just as easily have been 19th century.

    My brother's father-in-law.;) He was Scottish, but he didn't die in 1819.
    Colin is a popular name in clan Campbell though. 'Our' Colin was a Campbell of Cawdor.
