This necklace was in the 4 for £10 pile at the antiques fair. Of course I had to oblige and find 4 items to buy :angelic:
It’s large at 3” across. Unmarked that I can see. Tests as silver, maybe 800 or less?
The more I look at this pendant the more I like it.
I have a few questions as always.
    1) Do the pendant and chain look right together or are a marriage? I’ve not come across what looks like hammered paper clip chain before.
    2) The stone is amazing! It’s got such depth and luminosity. It is slightly UV reactive (unless there is glue underneath reacting?) but Mary swears it’s stone not glass and there are absolutely no bubbles. Neither can I see any inclusions. A very slight yellow hint unless it’s the overhead lights confusing it.
Any ideas of what it is please?
    3) The old chestnuts of date and origin.
    Thankyou so much :)

    Could be chrysoprase.

It looks very much like it!. Thankyou Bronwen, as soon as I looked it up I could see that’s what it is even to the hint of yellow.

Not sure why it’s giving me a weak UV reaction though as it says non reactive.
    It’s an amazing looking stone.

So pretty. It reminds me of Peruzzi.

The chain is twisted wire like what is on the pendant.

Agree with chrysoprase. I had no idea what stone it was but by chance was looking at an Etsy sellers inventory and ran across a piece that reminded me exactly of your green stone! So hurried back to share thoughts and here it was already ID'd as chrysoprase, so I think you've got a good answer. I couldn't pull the Etsy photo but if you are curious...

Great buy at 4 for 10 by the way...

Now that's a paperclip chain if ever there was. Italy or Portugal most likely, but that sort of filigree was done all the way to China. I'd say you got your ten squids' worth.

Thankyou both, I will googled Peruzzi to see if it gives me any leads.

I think so too! It was just lying there in a little baggie sticking out of the modern tat jewellery like a sore thumb.I got some gorgeous art glass earrings too that were on the pile as they aren’t precious metal. I’ll get a photo up as such a bargain!

Venetian glass earrings. Retail those are at least twice what you paid for the lot. Here anyway. Maybe more.
