    ….spotted in the job lot of jewellery I posted a short time ago?

    Well, she arrived, and I’m very happy thanks to you lovely people.
    Filthy dirty and needs some pearls and a new C clasp. Has an old repair to the middle dangle which is brass but the rest is silver.
    No marks anywhere that I can see.

    Yaaayyyy!:woot::woot::woot: Congratulations!:happy::happy:
    They loved emeralds, but as we know, not every emerald is an emerald. These emeralds are emeralds!!!!:woot::happy:
    And typical AH enamel on the petals, as I suspected.
    You could always secure the pin so it doesn't attack anyone, and add two chains somewhere near the top to make it into a necklace.
    AH jewellery is rarely marked, so no problem.

    Kate, when I think about those who study and learn about their interests, seeking advise and honing their eye, understanding that even less than desirable finds are all part of a learning curve, you are always the first person I think of. Brava - you deserve this great piece!!!

    Have you tested the clear stones? If they are not rhinestones the first thing I would do is give it a good bath in warm soapy water. Then I would use a foaming silver polish with a soft toothbrush to brighten it up a bit.

    If they are rhinestones, a soft toothbrush with a little rubbing alcohol followed by drying with a hair dryer will get off a lot of the grime.

    The brooch is absolutely gorgeous and you have a really good eye for jewelry to spot it in that pile... I wouldn't have look twice.. :)
