This was once a British 184? Silver fourpence.
Coins aren’t my thing so I’m assuming in this mauled and holed condition this is only worth scrap but before it goes in the scrap silver pile maybe please could @daveydempsey help explain the mess on the reverse ? Is that wide stripe of silver from mint error or likely from someone’s handiwork? It sits slightly proud of the face.
    Thankyou :)

Its called a "Groat", Four Pence, Sterling silver.

Looks like someone has soldered something to it to make jewellry.

The date does not really matter.

    It is scrap value only.

You could save it for an ethnic jewellery necklace. In some parts of the world the occasional British coin would turn up through trade, and be mixed in with Spanish reales, Maria Theresia Talers and local coins.
