Is this a modern day bell or old school?

    I bought this bell at a garage sale in Australia thinking it was an old/early school bell. Now wondering if it's a tourist piece, much younger bell than first thought.     Yes with modern - Handle way too shiny with that brass nut at the top and the horrible rough brass casting surface on the inside screams modern India.
