I do think I shall refer to him as Hister (complete with the accent) from here on out though! Thank you.

Nostradamus wrote his prophecies in French, Occitan, Latin and Greek, changing languages to confuse the authorities. He also put his quatrains (the short rhymes which make up the prophecies) in different order, for the same reason.
So we will have to find out which language he wrote the Hister quatrain in.
Even if it is in French, he would have pronounced it with an Occitan accent, because he was born in Provence, in the south of France. When people of Provence speak French, they pronounce more letters than in the French you usually hear, a legacy of the Occitan language.

Nostradamus' family was originally Jewish, btw. So I think this thread has changed from a Hister thread to a Jewish thread. Another sweet revenge.

 

You're in luck, the Hister quatrain was written in French, 16th century French (with a Provençal accent).

"Bestes farouches de faim fleuues tranner;
Plus part du champ encontre Hister sera,
En cage de fer le grand fera treisner,
Quand rien enfant de Germain obseruera."

He wrote more that could pertain to the Austrian madman, but I think this is the only quatrain where he mentioned the name Hister.
