I'd say both. Someone in Turkey or Iran got hold of a book of mid-century designs and decided to have some fun.

I no longer speak to my brother.... I hope he is taking care of it. I would never sell it. All of my siblings are lacking in the responsibility department...

I only have cousins on my mom's side, and one sister. She's the responsible one of the two of us. Thankfully. All of the family jewelry, such as it is, is in her safety deposit box at the bank. My niece is going to inherit the lot anyway and no one ever wore it, so might as well.

Oh my, my family too. I am the UN in my family, I talk to everyone and hold my tongue. I think it's the middle child syndrome ;)

Middle child here too. I used to be the UN, but gave up because I was hitting my head into a brick wall of stupidity.

Oh yea, sounds familiar. I am #6 of 9, a huge crew! I gave up trying to fix anything long ago, I just talk to everyone but don't try to be peace maker any more. Better for my sanity!

I have a weakness for opaque Sowerby mid to late Victorian glass and don't find it all that often on this side of the pond. But I found 3 small, nice pieces recently :) Unfortunately, though I was #8 getting in the door at the sale, the Nursery Rhyme pieces were already gone

I think the large piece is American, OW or Open Work by Challinor, Taylor & Co. circa 1880. That is if I am reading EAPGS correctly...

I found 22 pairs of Nepalese silver earrings wrapped in a Pashmina whilst going through crates of stuff from the last but one clearance at my lock-up today.

Don’t get me started! Not siblings but MIL!
She sold everything that my OH should have inherited including his Grandfathers Welsh gold engraved pocket watch :rage:.
That’s the tip of the iceberg. I’ve tried very hard for years but now she has finally completely burned her bridges with me, the final straw was a few months ago by ringing OH up to give him grief about forgetting his nephews birthdays when he had been at deaths door in hospital and had heart surgery.
    Vile witch.
That’s the very edited version and believe me I have been very patient and tolerant for years but I’m done now.

    That's awful, Kate. ;(

My ma in law was a love. First time I met her, she gave me her own mother's amethyst and seed pearl brooch. My father in law said, broad Devon, he'd always wanted a daughter, my lover.

My two grandmothers, one a Nana, the other a rather regal Grandmama, very Edwardian, got on like a house on fire. Nana had despaired of her son ever marrying, and the fact he snared a rather glamourous actress was a bit of a compliment to her, she reckoned. Grandmama was in awe of Nana's couture seamstress skills.

Still miss the lot of them.
