... well, that's what the family calls me! I collect... and never let go of anything. Trying to change the habit so maybe I'll start my journey on Antiquers with a give away of some sort. (Don't anyone hold their breath though, 'cause just thinkin' about letting go of something already got my pulse up and hands sweating!... But I'll try...)

Looking forward to exploring Antiquers.

And one question for starters: do people here buy stuff from each other? Or ask, "Hey, wanna sell that one?" I never sold anything, but was wondering if it was OK to ask someone about selling something if I see a piece I fancy.

Hello. There is a Sell forum. Click on Home. Then click on Forums. Scroll down the list and post your items to sell there. Ar least that's what I did to get to the Buy Forum. Others may have comments on how to sell on this site.

Welcome JayBee....I was born with same "collecting gene". Thankfully we both have found a place were this gene is shared by many.

 

Welcome to the forum! I'm a packrat too. Quite a few of my close relatives enjoy collecting/hoarding so I think there may be a genetic factor in play there.

I don't really buy/sell online so others will need to advise you there. I'm here for the conversation with like minded folks and to show off some of my finds.

 

Thanks all for the welcoming messages! Genes... yeah... for sure! Grandma never got rid of anything, not even the 2' of string that came holding the wrapping paper on the bacon! LOL! And no, I don't need help getting cured... GRIN! Very happy hoarding and collecting beautiful and odd "things..." Will post pics of some for sure if that's something people do here just to share the join of having them.

Agree most of us are fellow pack-rats. We're never sure who is the worst pack-rat though, so maybe you want to enter that competition.

Sales do happen, but I suspect that people here are normally good at finding interesting things at low prices, so I think this isn't the best place to sell if you're looking for market prices (ebay, craigslist, etsy, facebook, high-end auctioneers or retail space seem to be the best ways to get market prices).
