I found these 2 paintings (both on board) today at a friend's 2nd hand store; 1 is by well known, listed Cuban artist Felix Ramos (who was the son of renown Cuban landscape artist Domingo Ramos),
And a 2nd one in the same box that is signed simply Daniel '25 (or more likely '85) - I personally like Daniel's painting better than Ramos; it's kind of like a palette style!
Does anyone have any idea who Daniel might be?
    The Ramos measures 11.5" x 9" and the Daniel measures 15" x 12"
Also both are in the same type & color frame, which is why I'm thinking it may be Cuban too?
Thank you for any help with this.

He lived in Miami where I am - maybe it donated by someone / a relative(?) who didn't know what it was?

I expanded the Ramos painting, pretty sure I see rosettes from offset lithograph. Better take a close look with a magnifier.

First picture looks like a lithograph not an original. If you zoom up you can see the dot pattern. Second looks like a hobby painter. Also on the first pic it looks like somebody added oil paint? Hard to tell.

I think the Ramos one looks badly stained by cigarette smoke residue or foxing.

I agree with Lithographer and Rink that the Ramos is a print, I can see the dots around the signature which is slightly out of register. Someone has added some thick paint strokes.

I think the Daniel work shows skill.

It's not badly painted. It's not by someone who didn't have skill. Just think it's one of those painters who liked to paint but never got well known.

The Ramos one may be a print with cigarette smoke and fading due to its having been exposed to the sun, but I agree with Houseful, there is more going on.
There is no way cigarette smoke and fading could cause those lime green blotches on the trees on the right, when there is nothing on the one from the blog that suggests anything like it. The same thing with those white smears on the palm leaves on the left, and on the sand in the foreground.
The Ramos from the blog has more subtle shading and detailing.
If it is a print, someone 'enhanced' it.

The Daniel one is by a skilled artist, but your eye isn't drawn to anything, it is just a mass of cabins, a bit box like.
The subject is nice, but another angle, more distance, or something of a different nature added to the composition would have given it more expression.

I've been staring at the two depictions of this scene. It certainly is the same scene but there are some differences I think. The clouds are what strike me the most. Not sure what to make of it.

I looked at the Ramos with a magnifying glass and it is a enhance print (damn it!) - could it be enhanced by Ramos - like Peter Max does a lot?

No, not subtle or artistic enough. Enhancing a print doesn't seem to be his style anyway.
