G Lundin Nickel Silver ladle

I always find the pieces that don't exist on the google. Looks 1900ish to me.

Anyone got a Lundin in their book?

 

That's the classic Swedish pattern called 'Gammal Fransk' or 'Franska Liljan', in constant production since the 18th century. 'NS' would be for 'Nysilver', silverplated nickel silver - don't know if Lundin was the maker or retailer (fairly common surname), there was an Eskilstuna pewter manufacturer called Lundin & Lindberg, but doubt any connection...

I think the lack of reference to the name indicates a small store

 

Hey Greg - I just spend too much time playing with silver and love the Scandinavian stuff. Years ago, found a Gammal Fransk spoon at a flea market, marked as ' plated silver ', young and stupid, told the dealer it was old Swedish silver, he apparently thought I was just a dumb blonde, said it was plainly marked 'PS' and was a dollar if I wanted it - still have it in my collection. The 'PS' was actually 'P5', the date code for 1869...

It was a ladle, “Gammal Fransk”, with that maker’s mark.
The silversmith Gustaf Lundin had his workshop in the coastal city of Hudiksvall, north of the Swedish capital Stockholm, from 1883 until his death 1928.
He seemed to work in both silver and nickel silver with his cutlery.
