Hi, i have a person asking me to find info about this typewriter

This pic is the only info i have on it at the moment

 

It's a Royal "Quiet Deluxe" if I remember my typewriter models correctly.

Likely from the 1930s, 40s or possibly 50s.

 

Not all of that old and with the damage to the finish and the number of inoperable keys, it's going to need a lot of refurbishment.

 

K, i saw a ton of royal quiet deluxe models ,but none of them have 4 silver colored "control levers" .I dont know what they are called, so im calling them "control levers" for lack of anything better

the closest one i found was referred to as a "Royal quiet de luxe", but no model number or year

Looks like this most likely dates between 1938 and 1949.

 

K, thanks all, ill try and get them to give me the serial number.Would i be in the ball park to think its in the ribbon cabin area on a bar or something ?

It's probably under that top cowling, but there's nothing to do other than check the whole thing over carefully. The serial number is most likely attached to the frame rather than the casing, but that's not a sure thing either.

 

Thank the Heavens those days of using them are (HOPEFULLY!!!!) LONG GONE from EVER having to actually use them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
