I’m katie and I’m new here!

Hi guys! I’ve never joined any sort of forum before, but after signing up, the site prompted me to introduce myself. I’m katie. I have always admired antiques and the stories they could tell, but never knew how to identify pieces or learn more about them so I usually resort to googling my head off with varying results.
That’s why I’m here!
I love junking and thrifting, and sharing my finds with others all while trying to to inspire them to appreciate and see the beauty in pieces with history rather than buying something brand new and mass produced. I resell on the side but nothing crazy. I just enjoy knowing the history of the pieces I bring into my home as well as being able to share my finds and their history with others.
my favorite things are Native American jewelry, clocks, furniture, rugs, and pottery (amongst anything else that speaks to me)
I can’t wait to further my knowledge of antiques. Thanks for having me!

Thanks guys for all being so kind! Sorry in advance for a dumb question:
How do I go about posting? I don’t want to just jump into a conversation randomly or post in a place I’m not supposed to.

If I want to make a post do I need to find relevant existing thread and comment/post there even if no one has posted there for some time? Or do I just make a brand new post? I’d love to join a “finds” thread! Just feels weird diving in conversations as the noob lol

also, curious about the media section. Is that a spot just to post pictures for fun? Lots of them have no conversations or comments attached.
