Well, there was some DRAMA on this thread that I can't see because the troll in question I have on Ignore! I have to do some maneuvering to see posts by folks I have on Iggy which I rarely do.
I didn't understand Marks post, he was replying to the Troll!

 

This site has lost much of its allure, I can't even post about important Americana without some dipstick with the IQ of a grapefruit creating drama and ruining the thread.
This is the SECOND incident in the last month on one of my threads, same ole crap, different day & different dipstick........
This site has LOST IT'S ALLURE for me anyway. It just ain't worth it.

Wow , that is some PRETTY furniture! Not my thing as we know, but I love being exposed to it!

 

Didn't mean to imply it was INH's fault that this SITE allows drama trolls to create drama, it's not, it's the site's fault.
This site has LOST MUCH OF IT'S ALLURE! for me.
A couple of weeks ago, had to DELETE AN ENTIRE THREAD because of similar dipstick conduct. The thread was about fakes in the antique furniture world which I think is kinda important, POOF, gone.
THE THRILL IS GONE

Relatively small auction house but has been around a while, located in the Shenandoah Valley so has good contacts there plus Colonial Williamsburg as well.

 

When I think that Trolls (I just figured out what they are btw) have any power to annoy YOU! Truly one of my many favs here,I engage “ My Scorpio “ ! DON’T LET ANYONE LIVE IN YOUR HEAD WITHOUT PAYING RENT! We all need to BLOCK them and emoji a smiley face and then we all can block!

Spitler is an interesting case, the family originally arrived in Pennsylvania and decided to take the "Great Wagon Road" along with about 50 other families and travel to the Shenandoah Valley VA. As farmers, perhaps PA. was getting crowded/expensive land wise and Virginia offered better & cheaper land prospects.

Remnants of this road still exist today (photo below), the same road Robert E Lee used to invade Maryland and, Pennsylvania about 100 years later.

 

I was telling my boss about the piece today, low and behold, I open the program and there it sat as a feature!
I followed it because I'm interested in seeing what happens too
