Hello everyone. Is it possible to find out what it is? Oil on canvas , Signature on a painting by M. Boulet., on the frame, something seems to be written in French, and signature on canvas from the back side, looks good to me but ...?What is your opinion ?Size 12x16 inches. Thank you. It looks like a little Made in México decorative painting from the 1970s to my eye. Let's see what others think.

The words on the back are in French and appear to give a title - Sunset (something)

I can read (I think) "coucher de salir."

Thank you ''Debora''"Bakersgma'',, I understand, but it seems to me too many coincidences: it is written in French, the signature is on the back, the frame corresponds to what is painted on the canvas, this is just my opinion.[Maybe next life.]

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Both to me, look like they say "M Boulet"............(NOT referring to what it says on the wood....just the canvas on the back and the siggy on the painting!)

I have never seen Mexican import paintings here in Europe. Iouri is also in Europe.:)
    M. Boulez, with a z maybe?
Probably "Coucher du soleil", "Sunset", as Bakers said.:) The writing is a bit sloppy.
Salir is making something 'sale', dirty.

The frame and stretcher are heavily smeared with paint and glue, initially, paper was glued on the back side. If we talk about the painting about the style, it is painted quite professionally. There is a central landscape and all the lines emphasize this.[Only my opinion]

I have no reason to believe it is French Canadian, which would be highly unusual in Eastern Europe.
The only Canadian art I see here in Europe is Canadian First Nations art, and very little of it too. Unfortunately.

On the other hand, we have over 65 million French here in Europe, and millions of other French speakers in Belgium and Switzerland.
So wouldn't Europe be a more likely origin?

    No, so do I.
I also still see Boulez, instead of Boulet. Written as BouleZ, not all that unusual in modern artist's signatures.
