What you see is what I got.

Which begs the question of how you know what it is, that's provenance of a sort. I see there is some lettering, but I can't read it.

If it is 'self provenanced' so to speak then that should be enough, as you say it's not the sort of thing anyone would think worth faking.

It's carved with the words Knockaloe, Isle of Man, 1914-1917 and has the 3-legged symbol for the island carved into it too. Whoever did this was either a professional artist or a seriously good amateur.

I hope! I'll need some better pictures though. My cousin is into WWI history and he thinks it's good too.

A few new finds, nothing spectacular or very old...

    FOUR FINDS 002-001.JPG

Didn't even know the silver piece was Tiffany until getting home and seeing the very tiny marks at rear. Chinese enamel and jade handle Yi pouring vessel, Japanese netsuke Hannya mask and a Chinese peking glass snuff bottle.

I have no idea what this thing is...

I believe etched bronze laid on a lacquered board. Signed EN(?) or EA(?). Probably second half of the 20th C. Mexican(?) Weird thing! Figure's face reminds me a bit of John Lennon.

Looks like a skeleton? in a cloak with wispy bottom. Something related to the Day of the Dead?

Pretty good week here. I have a few thrift store finds here but will make another post for the rest.

These glasses are pretty small (aperitif?). Seem to be nice quality. Thin grey/smoke glass with ground rims. Nothing too special but couldn't say no for $1.50.

Yikes! ......... Really should have washed these before shooting.

The sterling and onyx bracelet is Joy Mex. The Sterling and MOP earrings have a makers mark but it is illegible. Marked .925 with just initials above so don't think they are Mexican. $2.00 each.

The earrings could be anything. The bracelet will have to be tested; there's a lot of Mexican "beach jewelry" floating around.

Love the unusual Tiffany bowl! The last could be a printers plate. If initials were reversed, would be N. B. Maybe a depiction of the Grim Reaper?

Think the bracelet has an older Joy Mex mark. Has the Aztec looking head and Plata .925. Probably should have included that but no reason to doubt that it is real with that marking.

This is not mine but it is marked exactly the same way...... Even with the mark fading off like this.

Best finds came from the local auction last night. Spent $142.00 for all this .......

Kind of grungy but a cool piece and not too large or heavy. About 40" long.
    stuff1061.jpg

Pair of night stands to paint and a mint aluminum ice bucket.
    stuff1060.jpg

There was a lot of pottery at the auction but most was not very special. I got outbid on a couple things but mostly got what I wanted. There is one really special piece here that no one but me knew what it was. Can you identify it?

The bracelet mark looks good to me; I'm always suspicious of the bracelets, after finding a couple of good-looking pieces with really nice fake marks on them.

Brad - I see a McCoy flower pot in there, and two old Haeger vases. At least they look like Haeger. The cups and saucers are familiar too, but the name escapes me. I try not to buy pottery.

Well the 1st item is a pig slaughtering table...thus the pigs feet legs, and the lower right geen vase looks Roseville, but i'll go with the lilac pumpkin vase as the special one .

Not a pottie ...but I'm trying.

    Susan,

I saw that mark but this is different. It has an Aztec God looking head in the center. I am thinking this pre-dates the standardized eagle and town/number marks?
