Featured Jasper & gilt bronze inkwell

    Hello

    I have this Jasper & bronze inkwell with some remnants of gilding. Please help me find out where it came from.

    27cm width, 15cm depth. 12cm to top of inkwell.

    Looks more like marble to me, perhaps antico rosso, levante or red bilbao (rather than jasper). I suspect Italian or French for the origin.

    I agree with Ce, it looks like marble. As to origin, the usual suspects have been named.:shifty:
