I got this ring from my russian grandmother, we don’t know the history of it or where exactly did it come from. Its an 18k gold (750 mark) diamond ring. We know that it was owned by a Jewish family and has been passed on to a grandmother from her grandmother and so on. Anyone can provide any insight on this type of rings? And identify the marking - script on it?

I can't help much but to say, I would call this a cocktail ring. Wait for the experts.

I sold two like this for a Jewish friend. They'd been made from earrings.

it looks like gold and diamonds.....you'll need to take it to a gemologist to confirm that...
a fine jeweler might do in a pinch !

Love this! I guess one could stretch the pattern to be a Magen David-it is a 6 pointed star but not the classic 2 equilateral triangles.

Hello. I think that the ring was 1971.( 1ЕЮ) It was popular in the USSR. Such rings and earrings (Бахча)) were made by the Yerevan Jewelry Factory.

Beautiful ring @VeeMaa , and welcome.

Great information, thanks @Aznathalie .:) Do you have a link maybe?
That makes sense, they look like traditional Armenian jewellery. I have a 1950s Armenian ruby ring and earring set in the same style. Lesser quality than this ring though, and the old style thick earhooks stretch the holes in my earlobes a bit. So for short-term wear only.;)

Strictly because if the ring is being sold online it gives another legal (if not actually correct) searchable keyword.

It is Armenian made. Armenians use a lot of sun symbols, so if it were a symbol, it would more likely be a sun symbol.;)

Now that origin has been determined I’d put sun in there too and change MD to just star! I’m obviously no purist on keywords although I’d never suggest anything that could be acted on as reportable.
