@daveydempsey, We soaked the legs of an antique bed in Kerosene and it got rid of the bugs, but I don't know if it would work the same for woodworm!! Don't know why it wouldn't either!!!

Finally some interesting vintage/antique finds at my thrift. Over the last 2 weeks there have been a number of items with a small tape tag with the former owner's abbreviated last name, "Trog". I know the full name because it is on the back of this cool framed picture. Anyway, I have found myself drawn to these items. Not shown were a few small glass and sterling pieces with the same name. I need to get back over to the thrift. No idea why things are coming out in dribs and drabs. I realize some of these items would have sold for more a few decades ago, but such nice quality.

Below the picture and glass piece (not the gold panel) were from the estate, the handpainted Nippon bowl, too.

This is my first Navajo rug. It was in a hipster store here in the city, labeled "Red White Black Grey." True!! Roughly 5' x 5'

Unadvertised yard sale wrought iron bed, $100. Seller is an acquaintance - mid 60s lady who said the bed originally belonged to her grandmother, and that it had been languishing in her garage for a couple decades. The bed is HEAVY.... headboard is close to 6’ tall. 0118239A-83DD-4E51-A660-356FDF563A31.jpeg

Nice headboard! I have one, not an old, nice one like this, that I have in my garden. It's a support for flowers to grow on.

Marie, the footboard is there also, behind the headboard - it’s identical just shorter - which you may already know! The rails came with also, are just out of frame at left.... just needs the wooden slats. It’s absolutely perfect... has been repainted but the original color is the same beige tone.

When I pulled up in the circular driveway it was leaning against the garage door. I’ve had similar beds before but this was so perfect in appearance I assumed it was a repro... until I lifted one side :hungover:

I have a couple newer antique style headboards used in the garden also.... love the look and plants love the twists & turns :joyful:

That is NICE. I wouldn't relegate that to garden duty.

No garden decor in this one’s future, at least for some years to come. Already have an interested party : my mom has suggested we do an “even swap” for this one which lives in her spare bedroom (note the duck taped top left section, ahem).
    Yes, she will prevail

Looks about right with the wood paneling. I think Mom is right; the one with the duct tape can go hold up some vines instead.

Two pewter necklaces from last week. The gorilla isn't signed, but he sure wants to be King Kong. The kitty and girl with kitty were Thursday's find. $10 the pair. The Edgecombe cat with the goofy face is American. The girl's siggie looks Navajo or similar, but I think she's Swedish.
