Brass - Who is this warrior?

It might be Ambiorix, but I'm not sure. Anybody who is a specialist of this era?

I imagine it's meant to be a decorative object rather than a real person but someone else may know. The Viking "horned" helmet is a popular depiction but I believe there is significant question about their existence.

I think the famous Ambiorix statue you show has a winged helmet and fewer clothes.

 

Yes he has, but it's a fantasy because nobody knows how he actually looked like. The quality doesn't look all that great but maybe it is just another fantasy how Ambiorix might have looked.

 

Or Vercingetorix. Since no one knows what they looked like... My very first thought was Ambiorix too.

How about Leif Erikson?

 

It's on sale in Belgium so I would assume Ambiorix. But, I'm listening to those who know more about it.

Who would that be? Unless we succeed in finding a matching sculpture, we can all only guess. When I went looking for Leif, found him portrayed in many ways. Same must be true for any of the these historical/legendary figures.

While I've been pecking away (cat on the desk, another in my lap, holding the keyboard with my left hand, right does best it can) INH, as usual has zoomed in on it.

I think could just be someone's over the top idea of a Viking. Monkey? On left shoulder?

The idea of the Viking horned helmet seems to be a product of 19th century opera costume designers, drawing from recent discoveries of Celtic iron age helmets such as the Waterloo helmet, found in the Thames in 1868:

 

100 bucks for both (spears missing). It doesn't look that this is going to be very unique.

My first thought was Ambiorix as well, since you are in Belgium, and he was ruler over my part of the world as well.
But it doesn't have to be Belgian made, of course.
