Hello looking for any information on these wood blocks I picked up , their really beautifully detailed I hope the pictures do them justice . The name is Henri Doupagne I’m hoping you can help me here , thank you in advance for any information and if you need more photographs or anything at all don’t hesitate to ask thanks again

I had some of these that were letter type press blocks for newspaper printing they were really old.

I can see these being an easy sell, if you're selling. There have to be collectors.

 

WOW!!! I inverted one and tried playing with the brightness, color and sharpness on one...looks like a double barrel shotgun!!!! GORGEOUS CARVING!!!!! VERY NICE!!!

Very nice. Wood engraving blocks. Looks like end grain maple, which is typical. I think I see seams where the block was cut then reassembled, for stability. They would look great framed with a print pulled from each block next to them.

Thank you for your enquiry. These process printing blocks were indeed created by Henri Doupagne, most probably for a commercial firearms catalogue which we are unable to identify. They date from the period 1907 to the early 1920s when Doupagne was operating in Rue du Château.
