Featured Antique tapestry Help With Age

    I got the beautiful tapestry from an estate sale.I know vwey little about the scene or age.Measure about39"x29",Appears to be water in the scene.Any idea of age or what the scene is about. SAM_3945.JPG SAM_3946.JPG SAM_3947.JPG SAM_3948.JPG

    The scene would have been taken from a painting or engraving. It seems to be set in Venice.
    I know similar tapestries were/are made in Turkey, but let's wait for the others.

    If you do a search for the term "jacquard", in this forum, you can find several discussions of this type of machine woven textile.
