Picked up this lovely piece and can't find anything like it so far. Researched a bit on Chelsea factory 1760 onwards then Derby. It has handwritten on base in blue 'Chelsea Blue' . Also small anchor looking Mark on inside rim. It's the deepest cobalt Blue and like creamy white birds. Any info would be appreciated

    Hi Cher! Welcome to Antiquers!

Please provide a photo of the bottom, and choose Full Image so the image is larger.

Also, in reading your post again, include the mark on the inside rim.....all photos Full Image.

It's OK Cher......all of us were new at one time also......and we are still learning too!

A photo of the entire bottom would be more helpful,

My first thought is that it's not antique.

Hi and welcome! I took the liberty of blowing up the photos and the writing on the base.

It's an attractive pot but it looks more modern and I'm going to guess that "Chelsea Blue" was added by a hobbyist or is the color of the glaze.

I did discover that older pieces 1750 ish had the written word Chelsea on base but am still investigating. The blue is real cobalt blue /black. Photos do it no justice . I thought it may be an early unfinished piece

That’s really interesting . It’s exactly the same, different colours. I thought it was a Phoenix aswell. Many thanks

Could it have been sold as a blank? Companies in that era made white ware to be sold to home china painters and those pieces sometimes weren't marked at all.

Think it's just the glaze and not a marking
