Hi All, I have a drawing here by Glynn Boyd Harte signed 1978 and I wondered if anyone can place the scene at all? Thanks in advance. Sam
Lucky you. He often included the location beneath his signature. Have you looked under the mat? Debora
Hi Debora, Thanks, I didn’t think of that. I don’t want to re-open it just yet though until I go get it reframed (someone has already opened it and taped it back up again when they checked to see if it was an original).
None of my business but... Does it really need reframing? I ask because sometimes the original period frame suits the work better than a newer frame. Debora
Somewhere Italian, with the shop front partial name and that fine wrought iron. That stucco colouring is usually Tuscan.
The frame is pretty ugly.. I'll send a pic of it later tonight when I'm home.. Thanks for the suggestion
Here's the frame and the back. What do you guys think? The acid paper has been taken out. Do I need to put that back in ASAP as there is risk of the art becoming damaged? Thanks all
I like both the frame and matting but again -- matter of personal taste. At any rate, a good professional framer should make sure surrounding matters will do the work no harm. Debora
