I’d love some information about these two glazed pots please.
    1) Green glazed with oil slick type effect. Marked Majolica, 698 and something indecipherable. Around 4” tall.
Ant suggestions for the indecipherable bit?
Is there a name for this rainbow effect on glaze?
Is it possible to attribute it to a maker or is it just generic majolica.
    Any ideas of age?
Majolica is just too wide a search term!

    2) Jam? Pot. Not as orange as in the photos, slightly more toffee coloured as the lid in the first photo.
Unmarked with inlaid/applied? Silver metal glaze leaves. Around 4.5” tall.
This one is to keep as a sugar bowl.
Any ideas of age or origin please. My search terms didn’t bring up anything similar. Thankyou for looking and any information :)

There isn’t a photo of the base of this one but the glaze is very similar so I think you are spot on @say_it_slowly
They suggest late 19thC, would that fit with mine or could that glaze type be used for decades?

Or something along the lines of treacle glaze with silver overlay. In the US Lenox made some along these lines.

Silver overlay is starting to get search results. As you say the majority are Lenox. Shame this isn’t marked, it would make it a lot easier!

Any idea of date or country of origin please? Google is finding me plenty of US makers but not this pattern.

I'm inclined to Continental rather than UK. Late 19th into early 20th.
