German translation? Handwriting on a mug

    say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

    This is written on the inside of a funny little mug but it's hard enough reading handwriting when you speak the language and really tough when you don't. I think the first word might translate as Bavarian but I've no idea what the other word might be. Hafol? Hafob?

    The mug has a lion carrying a pretzel, some sausages, a beer, some turnips(?), a checkered cloth and a heart on a pole. Thanks so much!

    Bayerisches is indeed Bavarian.

    The word below is Haferl . It means mug or pot. (Dialect, really.)

    LOL well that's pretty direct isn't it, Bavarian mug:D (just in case someone thought it was a plate or something I guess).

    You're most welcome. It's a literal little mug. ;) I suspect all the images are meant to be emblematic.

    I recognize some of them. I'd love to see what the mug looks like - it might be a spiced wine (gluhwein) mug from a Christkindlemart. There's a big one in Munich.
