Is the scene Japanese? Also what is this felt art called? Like a type of tapestry? Looks vintage.. I think the frame is maybe 70’s or so? It measures 80x30cm. I haven’t seen something like this before
and find it interesting. Still thinking of buying it. Thanks for any comments and keep well

Think a bit earlier. 1950s or 1960s. Let's wait for other opinions.

I wouldn't call it a tapestry, but it does look like the felt pieces have been sewn on. Maybe call it a fabric collage?

Thanks for the comment. Was also no sure about using ‘tapestry’. Will search some more and also use ‘fabric collage’ as key words..

    Needle felt tapestry.

Try "applique". Hard to tell the fabric from the photos, but it looks like pieces of felt stitched onto a backing cloth. "Needle felt" refers to a particular technique used to make felt (a "nonwoven" fabric), and "tapestry" refers to a specific type of weaving technique, usually hand woven.

Much appreciated.Thank you for the comment and information. I will search that then. But it is a Japanese scene? Any guess to age?

I think the scene is meant to look Japanese, but I don't believe it is Japanese made.

Agree. And looking at it again... Don't think as late as 1960s.

Ok. Thanks for that. Still interesting and unique. Haven’t found anything quite similar to it so far.
