Featured HELP WITH OPAQUE GLASS LAMP - FROM MGM STUDIOS

This is one of a pair (the other is in storage - we are going to get it today) of lamps left to us from my mom. My sister said she remembers our mom saying she got them from MGM Studios, but not what movie or series they were supposed to have been in.
Can anyone tell me about it? It is made of a opaque/white glass -that's all we know; there are no markings that I saw with a cursory look. Hope to have pic of the pair later today.

Possibly Warren Kessler or Paul Hanson...More in the Kessler style. Sockets in the cluster may have been replaced.

 

Sabre, well found! Funny you mention Paul Hanson, that was my first thought having sold a Paul Hanson lamp a year ago. Mine was completely different, but had a main feature of glass that reminded me of this. Where is the photo above from?

Here are the 2 lamps together. 1 is missing it's finial & the other's plug has been cut off sometime in the past.

 

Having a pair will bode well for you, should you decide to sell. The original sockets in the cluster would have probably been brass "fat boy" sockets. They don't look like they match between the pair. One cluster has threads, and the other doesn't. I'm just observing, not saying that the sky is falling because they're not original.

Are you missing the finial on the second lamp? [edit: it would have helped if I read your recent post!]

 

yes + 1 plug - the cord was cut sometime in past

 

You could always buy a matching pair off eBay or somewhere that are close to the originals. You may get lucky and find a one-off match (or close), too.

 

I like the lamps! Are they floor lamps, or tall table lamps?

 

I think they are table lamps; they are about 3' tall (guessing off the top of my head)
What year are these from - can you tell by the plug?

I'd venture a guess they're at the latter end of Hollywood Regency era: 1940s - 1950s.

Definitely table lamps.
