Browsing local listings on a break I saw this and I’m curious about it. Not sure of origin. Chinese? Korean? It’s 26” tall. Looks interesting. Any guesses to age/origin? Worth getting? Seems to have some real age..

Very nice, J. It is Southeast Asian utilitarian (stone)ware, much like the Martaban storage vessels with those rings for ropes around the neck.
It could have been made in Shiwan, China, which is also known for making Martabans. Similar storage vessels were made in other parts of coastal Southeast Asia, so it could also have been made in Vietnam, for instance.

Martaban is the old name of Mottama, a port in Burma/Myanmar, so that gives you an idea how widespread the use of these vessels is.

Below is a Martaban from Shiwan. Yours is not a Martaban, strictly speaking, but it is in the same range of stoneware storage vessels:

Great insightful info from Any Jewelry (as always) but even without her commenting I would have bought that (if the price was right) It just looks so interesting and has lots of character (but obviously after what AJ said,I want it even more :))

ask a specialist if it isn't from one of the marketplaces along the silk route. the lower half of the script could be Arab.

Sorry I forgot to update here. Thanks AJ and everyone for great informative replies. This piece definitely had the look. I was working that day when I saw it posted for sale. I posted here looking for more info on it. Finally got home at night checked here for replies. Got even more intrigued when I saw AJ’s reply obviously. Only to check back and see that the pot has sold in the meantime. Not surprising I guess. Usually when good things go up on the local marketplaces they get snapped up right away. They were asking $200 but seemed ready to deal. At $200 and considering the size and fragility in regards to shipping I wasn’t going to bite. Just was going to store it as a valuable lesson in ID’ing Martaban pots/jars. If I could have gotten them down to about half that I would have probably taken a chance. It looks like they don’t sell super often, on eBay at least. It would have been very annoying to ship. I guess a local auction house that specializes in Asian stuff would have been the best bet. Very captivating looking thing though. It came out of a storage unit. I’ll try to keep an eye on the guys other listings.
