Old Pedal Car.... Needs TLC.. any insight please

Welcome to the sickness. These little cars can become quite addictive. I'm glad you saw more cars in person. That translates better than anything I can tell you online. As for the original parts, that's smart and exactly what I pursue but it is a slow solution to rebuilding a car. I only collect cars in original paint. I don't restore them but I have a restoration guy dismantle each car and clean each piece just like it was being restored. Then the quest for any missing parts begins. But only original parts. I hope you enjoy. There are a half dozen Facebook groups dedicated to pedal cars with half of them rich with Triang cars.

 

Update..... Discovering its original colour after a good clean up...

 

Nice. Like is blue-grey? But more blue? Like a petrol blue? Or what did they call that colour?

 

Perhaps @ Neal Andreas could tell us the actual name of the colour

Thanks I was surprised to find the original colour more so the white line on both sides and on the top also on the arrows .

I wish I could, however I'm just not that versed in Triang cars. I have seen @Hachiko surface in at least one of the Facebook pedal car groups. There are Triang collectors and parts dealers that are better educated on this car than I am.

 

One of the sad things in the pedal car hobby is that people don't even try to clean many cars like yours before deciding to simply sand blast it for restoration. I applaud your for the great job you did getting the original paint to pop while not destroying the pin striping.

 

Thank you I was rather pleased with the result. Wasn’t easy but a little patience and persistence got the result.
I was told it’s a Vauxhall Premier from 1930’s. I haven’t been successful as yet with finding parts….
