Hello there.. The following table was left from my grandparents, and I was wondering if anyone can provide any information regarding its origin or value? I roughly know it must be about 100 years old.
It's brass tray (or copper?) with Arabic writing. it has some nice walnut wooden legs too, no damage that I can see. I would appreciate your help! Many thanks!

Wait for more knowledgeable members to reply. My 2 cents: There’s really alot of these tables (of variable quality and design) on the market. Likewise there’s a big price range.

I think this might be Moroccan. If you say about a hundred years old then the brass tray must be hand hammered/crafted.The vintage and antique ones can sell for good money.

Personally I really wouldn’t have quested that your table that old. Are you sure the wood is varnished walnut?

Those are typically souvenirs from the 1960s and 1970s. Should be hammered brass. I would have doubts about the wood being walnut as well. An internet search for "Moroccan brass tray table" will bring up many examples on offer with some very hopeful prices.

Well I love it ! Ive got an oval brass tray coffee table and not one person that sees it doesnt comment on it. I dont think yours is 100 years old either. oral histories can get changed over the years.

We had a post not too long ago about a similar table, which I think we determined might be Syrian. From the research I did at the time, it seemed like most every Muslim country had versions of this table. I would assume from the OP's name that his Grandparents might be Turkish, and there are definitely tables in this style from Turkey. But what makes one more valuable than another, I couldn't say.

Thank you SO MUCH for the feedback :)
The 100 years was a guess - judging from the fact that my grandparents passed at least 20 years ago, and probably they bought it in their youths, I guesstimated a hundred. It's probably more like 60-70..

I am impressed with the prices I see on the net. Thank you again :)
