Can someone identify this doll. I picked her up at a yard sale for $2.00. I was doing some searching and thought maybe Hertel Schwab? On the back of her head is Made in Germany and numbers 152/3 Also the sticker on her back is from The White house department store in San Francisco CA.
I was trying to determine if this doll came before or after the 1906 earthquake?
She has no legs, Missing fingers, Showing teeth, and sleepy eyes, her head is close to perfect.

The head is a very nice one. The body is in rough shape, but legs could be found.

    Thank you so much,Book!
The outfit isn't really one I'm fond of, though it's very *of it's time* isn't it! It's a clone outfit, not a real Sindy one and I'm a bit of a Sindy snob and mine only ever wear Pedigree outfits. This is my friends doll though and she came to me in it, and I actually think she rocks it rather well, better than I'd have thought xxx
Thank you for your lovely words,Book xxx

Thank you Judy! It's only a learned skill, I have no real talent, anyone can do it (though I must be utterly fair I have seen some MONSTERS :O )
When I actually got down to it, it didn't take that long, only a few hours as these are straightforward to do thankfully. It's a labour of love as well xxx
I hate hate hate doing the lashes though, so fiddly. My most hated job. These went in nicely, thank goodness!

    Thank you Judy xxxx

I had to go back and look at her lashes..........you mean you re-rooted them also???????

You have much more talent than you give yourself credit for.

So.....I'm happy to do it for you!:happy::happy:

    Oh Judy,that's very kind,thank you <3

I do usually reroot lashes, yes but this particular Sindy ( Trendy Girl) came with slot-in lashes, not sewn, so I just slotted these in. Sounds much less painful than it actually is,it's a nasty fiddly job and I'm mega tight, if I lost even one lash it'd upset my poor sensitive sensibilities so even more pressure! But for some reason these were simple.
It's hard to source genuine looking lashes as well. Some rerooters just use anything to hand but I'm fussy and like them to look as original as possible. Some rerooters also ( ooh I AM bein' a bit catty, don't mean to be!) don't cut them to size either, just leave em hanging out like no one's business. Never understood that...takes mere seconds to cut 'em down to size and makes the world of difference xx

Bou.......I think with your talent, you are well entitled to point out the faults of others...........it's not being catty...........it's being truthful. Truth RULES!
