Please help ID these (origin and age?) They were listed as Mediterranean folk
pottery vessels. The seller was very honest and said he really didn’t know the true origin and was just guessing (he also added maybe Portuguese or French) I love the look and bold colours. They do have some condition issues. The round one is 20x20cm. The other 23cm in height and 18cm wide at the base. Thank you and keep well

I believe they're West German or maybe Austrian. The numbering looks it.

The numbers do look like as obb suggests, I thought the same

But they strike me very odd

Are the coloured parts under or over the glaze ?

Thanks.Odd is a good word for describing them (sure that’s why I like them so much) The colour decorations is over the glaze..Also is vintage pottery from West Germany almost always marked: W-Germany?

Much of it only has numbers, or sometimes, Germany.

They look slip decorated. I like these. I'm thinking earlier - maybe 1910s or '20s. Somebody knows who made them and I think it's worth taking the time to find out.

I may be very wrong here, but To me they look like one thing turned into something else, by over painting. I would think the decorational parts would have been glazed over as well if original to the pieces, as there looks to be a glaze on the undecorated areas

Like I said might be wrong :)

It says 'Art Deco Style', which is seller speak for: "It is not of the period, but made much later, but putting Art Deco in the listing attracts possible buyers".:(

    And yes, chicken heads.:chicken:
