Porcelain gift box ID?

Hello again,
I am hoping someone might know the maker of this.
Or maybe what this particular item is called. Is it a gift box?
I think it is porcelain, it's fairly old.It's about 4 inches tall and wide.
It has a mark on the bottom and under the lid.
Anybody know how old this actually might be?
Any help greatly appreciated.

It's Japanese, inside the lid those characters read '19'. On the base the first character is 'old' can't make out the second. It is unlikely you will be able to find out the maker. Age wise, possibly inter-war period.
