Can anyone help identify this vase, looks kind of art nouveau style, maybe Austrian? $_57 - 2021-09-06T141645.067.jpg $_57 - 2021-09-06T141717.635.jpg $_57 - 2021-09-06T141659.052.jpg

No expert, but I wonder if it could be British?:bag:

Interesting one, kind of Secessionist vibe, possibly Austrian/Bohemia. The impressed numbers on the base like that isn't really a British thing.

I'm probably way off base but the decoration looks similar to the style used by Moorcroft (the floral part).

Tube lined majolica - and yes, Moorcroft used tube lining. It's lovely. I agree the numbering isn't British. I'd think Austrian or German, late 19th/early 20th.

DizzyDaff Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Interesting. The vase shape itself seems unusual from others I've looked at, could that be a clue?

Is the flower anything in particular? Looks like an orchid to me

    Stylised iris from the looks.

Julius Dressler made some items in this style, although there is enough difference I doubt they are the maker. Moravia also used iris designs, but not tubelining afaik. Sarreguemines also made similar designs (France) but wrong colours for them I think.

I still think it's likely Austro/Bohemian, may not be possible to determine the make though as there were many small potteries of which records/pattern books don't exist.

Thanks definately useful information. Looks to me like they've made the top of the flower look like some kind of demon or pixie, like a brand logo for some alcohol product

Interesting observation, I hadn't noticed that, but after reading your comment I now can't unsee it - funny how the brain works like that.

Iris - flag irises to be specific.

But the one at the top is a Ladyslipper orchid I believe.

Edit: not the very top but the large one below the rim.
