Help with Chinese Resin Box

I am hoping for someone to add to my limited knowledge about this box. I would like to know approximately when it was made. I've included a close-up of the mark that was on the inside of the box. Even though it is very crude, I'm hoping that a translation might help.

 

"Resin" is a term used for a synthetic plastic material that is used to make molded objects.

Based on your photograph, the bottom of your box looks like wood, rather than resin. I would like to see better closeups of the top of the box. It may be carved wood, or possibly carved lacquer (although lacquer is usually applied to all of the surfaces of an object). Why do you think it is resin?

 

I thought it might be resin because there were some places where the black was chipped. Here is a close-up view of one of them. I couldn’t see any other material present.

I used my microscope camera. It looks like white quartz under the black. The box weighs a little over 28 oz.
