Hi Van.:) It looks Indian or Pakistani. The faces are actually floral designs that look like faces.;)
I wonder if it is two bracelets joined together? One single strand and one triple strand?

It's contemporary from that hook clasp. It seems made that way. The chains match.

It is a classic Indian/Pakistani chain type, so it would be very easy to find a bracelet for the back part.

I know they are. And they have been making them for thousands of years. But we are talking about this specific example, which looks Indian/Pakistani.

it could definitely be an upcycled piece, but they’d be much larger bracelets, almost definitely for men in that case. :D

I bought it to wear so origin isn’t too important, but thank you @Any Jewelry for dropping a pin for me!

I don’t want to hijack the thread so I’ll delete it it’s too off topic or misleading.
I walked round our local antiques fair today and picked up a chain that looked quite like this in style. I asked the seller about it and she said it was Libyan and described it as ‘barrican’ and was low grade silver. It was stamped in several places. I didn’t buy it as it was £36 and I had no idea what I was buying but when I got home I tried to Google and nothing! So have I got the incorrect spelling or is the seller incorrect? Stupidly didn’t think to take a photo.
I thought @Any Jewelry would be the lady to know!!

I must confess, I have no idea. I don't know 'barrican', and the silver I know from Libya is high grade silver. Were the stamps roundish?
Libya also has loop in loop chain necklaces, they are seen throughout the Berber region, but they are mostly two loops width, so not as dense as Van's chains.

There is an Al-Barasa tribe in Libya, does that ring a bell?

I should have taken a photo :banghead:
If she is there next week I’ll see if she still has it. She sells embroidery, haberdashery and textiles and this was tucked away so I suspect it won’t have sold. I’ll ask to take a pic as it’s bugging me now. I know she said barrican and Libya as it was hand written on the label too. ‘til next week…….
