Nude Pastels

    The piece is laminated but the edges have started to peel.
    I guess a student work? Maybe done a bit in a rush because whoever made it did not finish the foot.

    I think the model and artist hopped in the sack.....and the painter forgot about the foot !! LOL.....

    Perhaps, in order to save time, skip the town dump as you are not likely to find treasures therein ;-)

    This was done from about a 15-20 minute pose. Many towns have sketching sessions where there is no instructor, only a nude model who traditionally holds short poses for the artists. While it can be called "student work" - it was most likely done by an attendee of one of these sketching sessions.

    Seriously though, sketching sessions are traditionally hosted by municipality's local art house for a small attendance fee. I've attended in several cities as a visitor too. One does not need to be a real artist. Some guy came to draw for a few months but he seemed to be there primarily to oogle the model. His sketches were far worse than this one! During the break, I asked him about his "credentials" and after the break, I noticed he'd left! He never returned. Guess I accidentally busted him!
