Featured Help Identify Some of My Mom's Earrings, Please

2 weeks ago at my garage sale I had a lady ask me if I had any jewelry & I told her I had 3-4 boxes + 2 jewelry chests full of jewelry left to me by my mom that was under my bed for the last year or two; both because it was my mom's and because there is so much it's a little overwhelming for me - and being a guy I don't know what's good & what's not.
The lady called me again yesterday and asked me if I'd consider letting her see the jewelry & making an offer - she said there could be $1,000's there even if it was costume because of how much there was - and I'm considering it because it's just sitting under my bed + I know my mom would like her jewelry to be worn & shown off; she was always getting compliments & she liked it!
So I took out 1 box to look up a couple of pieces and I know the Alex Bittar because of the help I was given here last year + I found there is a pair of Vaubel & a pair of Patti Horn earrings, but these below I can't find or can't make out the name & am hoping someone here can help me?
PS - The first pair has 18kt and 925 on the back + what looks like a capitol letter H with a paint brush(?) through it? Or a pair of columns with a path/sidewalk leading to it?
The 2nd one looks like a first name & the letter B initial for the last name and under that Made in Italy
Also there were some necklaces that I couldn't find a name but are big & heavy and have some kind of stones that are not natural in them - In photo, what do I call the first 2 & last necklaces (is there a name for them or do I just say costume necklace?)

Check John Hardy for the first pair of earrings.

 

Sounds like there is some very good stuff there with the names you mentioned. I would be reluctant to let someone just come in and make an offer without knowing what I had. You can always post small groups of items like in this thread and someone here will probably recognize anything that is of special value or interest.
Those John hardy "dot" earrings could be worth 100-300 depending on size.

I can't see enough of the mark on the other pair of earrings, but costume jewelry Made in Italy could be hi-end and valuable.

 

925 is sterling silver.

 

The second pair of earrings are signed "Replica Made in Italy". Here is a listing with a clear photo of this mark.

 

The last necklace has a Coro Vendome badge.

 

To give you an idea of the value of those John Hardy earrings:

The 2nd necklace from the right could be ivory, we would need to see closeups of the beads and then maybe we can tell.

I bet you could post every last piece of jewelry here and not only would you get help on every piece I bet folks would enjoy giving it. I’m one that can’t let things go in lots at a discount. That said there is a lot to be said for not doing all the work and just unburdening yourself in lieu of the top of the market price. I’d like to become a little more balanced in that regard. Moving some lots would be pretty helpful for me space wise.

lol! I know the feeling - we are living in the in-laws house of my home because the main house is too full of stuff I've collected!

It didn't start off that way; but when the cast iron pipes in the house's plumbing collapsed it took the insurance company 20 months to pay the claim. And since we couldn't let the people stay there with no plumbing who were renting it I had a BIG empty space with a $2,000 monthly mortgage! Then I thought if I won a few storage auctions & broke them up to sell like I used to; I wouldn't have to rent a storage unit (or 2) to hold it until I sold it...and it grew to filling the house!
(I do sell a lot of it; about $2,000 - $2,500 a month on eBay + anywhere from $400 - $1,000 during weekend estate/garage sales - but then I go find new cool stuff!) It's an addiction according to my girlfriend (while I argue it's an investment!)

Thank you for the help - the earrings are surprisingly expensive, while the necklaces were surprisingly inexpensive! (plus there are bracelets & rings & things I don't know what they are! If she makes an offer over $2,000 I may take it - if not I may just have to come back as I sell what I learn about here & pull out new things (if that's alright?!)

If she's a cheapskate like me we'll get to see a lot more of it. I'd bet money that the ivory-looking necklace is ivory and the pearl-looking one in the middle is pearl and shell. And yes those are John Hardy earrings.

You've got company, right here!! Just last night I was looking at the boxes of inherited jewelry-thinking to myself that I could start with just a few pieces. Overwhelming. The only thing propelling me at all is that my daughter (the only reasonable person to pass this mess on to) has zero interest in any of it. It would end up at an estate sale.

I've been searching antique/vintage ivory necklaces trying to find an exact match (ivory clasp, carved ivory beads lowest middle one largest etc), and I'll be doing that most of the day because there are so many.

 

Just a thought before you spend too much time researching ivory necklaces: Journeymagazine lives in the USA and our laws on selling ivory items are pretty strict, so very likely a moot point to bother looking up examples.

 

He/She doesn't have to sell it. He/She can keep it in the chest but just know it's value.....or give it back to the elephant or whatever.
