I've had this a while, the listing has had no interest so trying to figure out what to do with it. It's quite short at 6.25 inches, which made me wonder if there's a missing piece but that would make it very long, so am stumped. The following is information from my listing...

The hook clasp has a Dutch sword mark which was used between 1906 and 1953, there is no silver grade marking but this mark guaranteed a grade of at least 833 silver (Continental silver grade lower than sterling). The large panel has makers mark GH3 which is the mark of Gebr. Huisman and was used 1934 - 1961, I deduce from this that the bracelet was made somewhere between 1934 and 1953.

But...I can't find any jewellery from this maker just spoons etc, so is there a possibility it was made for another purpose? It was in a job lot I bought a while ago and the seller described it as a bracelet, I did wonder when I listed it but couldn't find anything else like it to compare. thumbnail_IMG_20210821_170717.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20210821_170748.jpg thumbnail_IMG_20210821_170802.jpg

It looks to me like it’s missing the elongated floral piece on the right side.

    To me too.
Many Dutch silver manufacturers of the period only made a small amount of jewellery, almost as a sideline.

I wondered about a missing piece too, guess I will have to add it to my next scrap or repair auction lot :(

It’s lovely and seems a shame to scrap. What if you removed the flower panel and just sold it as a small bracelet? Some people (like me!) have tiny wrists.

If I remove the flower panel it will only be 4.5 inches long, wonder how it would look if I take that off and add some wide chain to the ends. Hmm...

That was my thinking too, only two chains on each end, which come together at the clasp. Some traditional Dutch bracelets have that, so it wouldn't be that unusual.
Keep the flower panel for another project.:)

This is a traditional Dutch 'book clasp' bracelet with three chains in between the panels and two on either end. Yours is also a 'book clasp' bracelet. In Dutch: boekslot-armband.:)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That sounds like a good solution.
