Artists signature

    Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone can decipher this signature. Sorry it's the only photo at present. This would be from 1896, not 1996.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    It looks like it could be a Dutch name, v something land, but the crucial part is damaged. Lower case v in Dutch is short for van, as in v. Gogh.;)

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    Was hoping inverting would help, but as AJ said, the crucial part is pretty damaged! It's usually best, as well, to show the whole painting....sometimes the style of the artist can be a 'tip off'!!!
