Dutch Faience or ?

    I also wonder if the style of portrait is consistent with 17th C work. It seems to me that portraits on these plates are usually more constrained (for lack of a better word) whereas the portrait on this is broad and sketchy.

    I do think your best bet (as others have said) is to take it to someone who has hands-on experience for a qualified opinion.

    Nice plate but I think that the difference or likeness between the back sides off the different time and country made majolica plates are quit good to determine the age and what country made question if it comes to my plate :bookworm: So backsides I need to get more info :hungry: And a similar plate would be my dream :angelic:

    Understood, my thinking is if we know who’s portrait it is, you can find another easier.

    I already responded to the question of when holes for hanging first appeared- Greece, roughly 600 BC (5th century)

    Anybody has found something similar looking design plates already somewhere online ? And the difference in backsides off the different kind off country's who could have made my plate or a similar looking plate ?

    I like your idea of seeing a Dutch ceramics expert in person. I don't think you will be satisfied until you do.

    You're right but need the find the time and expert soon . Need to tidy up my collection once so would like some guide price for a lot first
