    Yeah, agrees it's late 19th century, Amboyna huh, I have never even heard of it before. One thing for sure, not American.
    What wood species is secondary drawer construction? is it oak? If so who else over there uses oak that way could help narrow it down.

    The French and Italians certainly did. The Germans and Scandinavians tended to be pine from my experience. Not to sure who else....anyone?

    These are some of the heaviest drawers I have ever felt. The front is 4 inch layers of solid wood. very well made. They slide in perfectly.

    OK...I get that........but just know for next time...there is a vast wealth of expertise here....as well as research section , and an opinionated mob who will not brook being pointed in any direction other than the truth......as they see it.
    Stating what you know about your item....or what you were told...or even what your expertise leads you to surmise ....will never sway or deter us from drilling down....and debating our own findings ! :):):):)

    So...NO...it's not a toaster !! :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    It's just that with old furniture its very helpful to know where you are, where you got the piece and any other details that may, may not be correct.
