Hello.. This lamp is MSLC 3970 which I've not found yet. Wondering if it's Gilbert Rohde also. Milk Glass Shade. Measures 28" high 7" d base and 8"d shade Thank you
It's a pretty lamp and may be nearly impossible to attribute to Gilbert Rohde unless you can find an old catalog that states it. He did do a lot of work with the Mutual Sunset Lamp Co, but I'm not sure this particular lamp would fit his design style, which is more Modernist. Try and search through reputable auction houses to see sold items by Rohde. I'm sure you've done some research and have found listings all over the place saying their lamp is a, "Gilbert Rohde." All of the eBay / etsy people and the likes trying to drive prices up by name dropping a famous designer.
Does anyone happen to know what the small "O" ring attached at the bottom was for? I've never seen such on a standing lamp before. It appears it may not be original to this piece?
Obviously I missed the height. But there still looks to be a button sticking up out of that circle thing. No?
