    Hello all,
I just picked up this set of cased teaspoons and have been trying to identify the maker. I have found a reference to this mark (E.P. Co..Ld 99056E7A-A863-463E-947A-CC70E0740C37.jpeg DB3D38EB-7AF8-4AF5-AE7B-03976640C47B.jpeg 99056E7A-A863-463E-947A-CC70E0740C37.jpeg DB3D38EB-7AF8-4AF5-AE7B-03976640C47B.jpeg D2E2E54A-FFED-4FE0-863F-6FA23419F674.jpeg ..) on spoons but no company name, I have also found this pattern of spoon under another maker mark (W.G & S William Gallimore & Sons 1905) I am confused! ( -: Can anyone enlighten me? I also wondered about the freehand engraved numbers - perhaps owners identifier? Thanks

The freehand numbers are to ID the owner in the event the spoons are stolen. (In the US there was a period when engraving with the owner's Social Security Number was recommended, but the set shown are not the right length or format.)

Thanks Bakersgma, I wondered about that - could be a Canadian SIN number, the format is correct.

I think Canadian too, BC and the Yukon SIN numbers start with #7:)

The EP&CoLd represents the "sponsor" for the marking - usually the maker or in the case of imported goods the British company that sponsored the import. The lower case e is the "date code" for the assay - in this case 2004. The assay was done in Sheffield (the crown mark.)

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

This might help others see it all right side up!! OR maybe not needed now since Bakersgma hit it!!

EP stands for Electroplate which means the spoons are silver plated.

But the spoons are properly marked as sterling. Therefore they are not plated and the EP initials in the sponsor's mark is not an indication of being electoplated.

Those dates are ones seen by the site owners. Not official dates of existence for the company.

I don't think those are 2004 with that style and box. A 2004 mark ought to have 925 as well, and would not be a crown. I'm with 1922.

I bow to your better wisdom OBB. I had gone with the 2004 which looked like thinner letter than the 1922.

It's one of those where you need to look at the whole set, if that makes sense!
